What gets recorded
Every visit stores the country and city, the device and browser, the host the click came from, the channel it belongs to (direct, organic search, organic social, referral, campaign, paid search) and any UTM parameters the visitor arrived with. CTA clicks and conversions are recorded separately from visits, which is the distinction that tells you whether the problem is your link or your offer.
No IP address is stored. Only the referrer's host is kept, never the full URL — the path of somebody else's page can contain a session identifier or what a person searched for.
Bots are not visits
Paste a link in Slack and Slack opens it to build the preview. So does the crawler, and so does your uptime monitor. Those requests are recorded with a bot flag and kept out of your totals, and reporting shows how many were filtered out over the last 30 days.
UTM builder
Set source, medium, campaign, term and content on a link and Visib appends them to the destination, so the site you are sending people to sees the campaign properly. This is separate from the UTMs a visitor arrives with, which are recorded as-is.
Ad pixels
You can fire your own tags on every visit to your links, which builds retargeting audiences out of people who clicked something you shared — without touching the destination site.
- Google Analytics 4 —
G-XXXXXXXXXX - Meta Pixel — 15 or 16 digits
- Google Ads —
AW-XXXXXXXXXX - TikTok Pixel — the 20-character ID from TikTok Ads
- LinkedIn Insight Tag — your numeric Partner ID
Set them once in Settings → Tracking & Retargeting to apply to every link, or per link when you create it. A per-link ID always wins over the account default.
