Why a custom social preview on a short link matters
Before the click, people see a card: a title, a line, and one image. On a Visib link you choose all three. The image is the file you saved. It does not change per person.

You do the work on the page. Then you paste the link. On LinkedIn, in Slack, in WhatsApp, people do not see the page yet. They see a card: a picture, a title, and one line. That card is the decision to tap or to keep scrolling.
OpenGraph.xyz makes this the whole point of their homepage. A shared link often shows up as a bad crop, an empty image, or a title you would not have written. The page can be good and the card can still lose the click. Their product paints a fresh picture per page. This article is not that. It is the same problem on a short link, where the picture is one file you choose and then leave alone.

The card is three fields
Open Graph is the set of tags a page puts in its head so a network does not have to guess. The three that build the card are the title, the description, and the image. Facebook defined them. LinkedIn, X, Threads, Slack, WhatsApp, and Discord read the same tags when they draw a preview.
The picture is the part people see first. In a feed it is a wide rectangle, and the words under it are small. OpenGraph's FAQ says that picture should already carry a short benefit, a reason to tap, and enough contrast to read on a phone, because the card is rendered small in a busy feed. Those words have to be in the file. A short link does not write them in later.
A short link can carry a different card
The page you are sharing already has its own preview. It is often the wrong one for the note you are posting: their photo, their headline, a crop that cuts the point. A short link is a second URL, so it can carry a second card.
When you create a Visib link and you leave the social fields empty, Visib copies the destination's title, description, and image onto the link. From then on, the URL you paste is the Visib link, and the card is those three saved fields.
Open the link and expand Social Preview (OG Tags). Edit the title. Edit the description. Use Re-fetch from URL if you want the destination's current tags copied again. Or upload a picture. The picker accepts JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF, up to 5MB. When an image is saved, the short link asks for a large card, so the picture is the wide one, not a small thumbnail.
OpenGraph recommends a file at 1200 by 630 pixels, PNG or JPG, under 5MB, so the crop is the one you framed. Visib does not crop or resize. If the size matters, export it before you upload. They also suggest a title under 60 characters and a description near 80 to 125, because X and LinkedIn cut longer lines. Visib stores the text you type. It does not shorten it for you.
The image is not dynamic

One file per link. The same card for every person you send that link to. Visib does not generate the image. It does not draw the title or the call to action onto it. It does not change the picture per visitor, or because the link has a query string.
What can change per person is a different layer, and only after the click. On Business, a dynamic CTA fills {{title}} from ?title= in the overlay. That is words on the page they land on. It is not a new social image. The walkthrough of that job is the advantages of a dynamic CTA. Do not expect the share card to do it.
Networks remember the old card
Change the image on the link and LinkedIn may keep showing the previous one. Platforms cache the preview. OpenGraph points at the Facebook Sharing Debugger, using Scrape Again, and at the LinkedIn Post Inspector, when you need those networks to look again. Re-fetch from URL inside Visib only re-reads the destination page into your three fields. It does not clear a network's cache.
Where this stops
This is one static preview per short link. It is not a template that paints a new image for every page on a site. Need a different picture for a different post? Upload another file, or make another link.
The name on the URL is a separate choice from the card. That guide is branded short links. What the reader sees after the tap, with your button on a page you do not own, is a CTA overlay without installing code.
