Link click tracker: measure visits and CTA clicks on short links

A link click tracker should tell you which shared URLs actually get opened. Visib records visits and CTA clicks on every branded short link, so you can track clicks on a link in one dashboard instead of guessing from impressions alone.

What Visib counts as a click

Each vlink has two numbers marketers care about. Visits increment when someone loads your short URL (redirect or CTA overlay path). CTA clicks increment when they click your overlay's call-to-action button. Email sign-ups from a capture form are stored as leads, not as CTA clicks. Plain redirects still record visits even when there is no overlay.

That is the core of short link analytics in Visib: one counter for opens, one for overlay engagement. Campaign tagging with UTMs lives on the UTM tracking link page; affiliate-specific workflows are on affiliate link tracking.

Where click analytics appear in the dashboard

Open Reporting for account-level short link analytics. Reporting shows account totals (vlinks, visits, CTA clicks, CTR), the top 5 vlinks by visits, and a visits-over-time chart for the last 30 days. Visits detected as bots are always left out of the counts.

Open any vlink detail page for all-time visit count, CTA click count, and CTR on that link. The main vlinks table also lists visits and CTA clicks per row with sort options so you can spot which share underperformed after a launch.

Wiring GA4, Meta, or ad pixels on the click path on vlinks with a CTA attached (plain redirects add no UTMs or pixels; snapshot links do not pass UTMs to the destination) is step-by-step in the analytics and pixels guide. Organizing dozens of links in one workspace is a different job; see the link management tool page without duplicating that workflow here.

How to track clicks on a link in Visib

Follow these steps when you need a link click tracker on shared content, not just a redirect.

  1. Sign in on a paid plan

Open Visib and sign in with Google or email. Choose Starter (9 €/mo) or Business (19 €/mo). Both include click analytics on every vlink you create. New accounts need an active subscription before publishing links.

  2. Create a vlink and share the short URL

In the dashboard, create a vlink with your destination URL. Copy the short link on visib.link or on a custom domain after DNS verification. Every time someone opens that URL, Visib records a visit on the link.

  3. Read account totals in Reporting

Open Dashboard → Reporting for short link analytics across your account. Reporting shows account totals (vlinks, visits, CTA clicks, CTR), the top 5 vlinks by visits, and a visits-over-time chart for the last 30 days. Visits detected as bots are always left out of the counts.

  4. Drill into one link for visit and CTA totals

Open a vlink from the list to see all-time visit count, CTA click count, and CTR on that link detail page. Pair counts with UTMs or per-link pixels on vlinks with a CTA attached (plain redirects add no UTMs or pixels; snapshot links do not pass UTMs to the destination) when you also need campaign tags in GA4 or ad platforms.

Branded short links and CTA overlays

Tracking only helps when people trust the URL you share. Publish vlinks on a custom domain URL shortener hostname so bios and newsletters show your brand. Add a CTA overlay when you want readers to see your offer while they read someone else's article; Visib still counts visits and overlay clicks on that path.
